On a south London estate, Matthew Ryan is still dealing with the guilt he feels over the disappearance of his younger brother Tom five months ago when he was meant to be looking after him. Then, he starts to hear and even glimpse Tom - or so he believes. Beginning his own investigations, helped by neighbour Amy Tyler, he finds himself in contact with a psychic Shelley Cartwright and cynical hack Jason Saks.
